About TransArt
Our purpose as a team is to skillfully use art to proclaim the Gospel, to encourage and serve the local church, and to be church where there is no church. Our team is committed to our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. We do everything for His glory. It is a joy to be able to work together to further the kingdom!
Highlights so far
In Oostkamp:
-Prayer walk in the small town Oostkamp, our trio (accordion, mandolin& guitar) play some worship music right next to the cathedral, some curious people stopped by and listen.
-Visited a local Christian artist which has her own impressive studio
-Our cultural immersion day in one of the biggest town Gent. Three impressive cathedral,the main one is probably the biggest one i’ve ever seen in Europe. Though it’s very sad to see the churches seem to have lost its original purpose, they’re more of a museum and art gallery rather than a place to worship…
I began to wonder, such an impressive building, but is God’s presence in there???
-We use every opportunities to hand out some artwork card and booklet thingy with the gospel message and local church website on them, if possible we tried to start a conversation about God To our neighbour in the campsite, to some street performers on the street, some ladies in the tourist information center….
-A super stressful shower experience in the campsite where hot shower costs, you put this prepaid key card in and every second counts…we joked about how it’s literally seeing ‘money down the drain’ lol
-My dream-comes-true experience of camping in the caravan and tent! Seen a lot of these back in New Zealand but never managed to experience living like that. 9 girls assembling two caravan tents took us ages to figure out how all those bits and pieces fit together. Probably took us 3 hours to get the whole thing up and running….it’s pouring rain every single night, so basically the camping ground is all soggy but thank God that the water didn’t leak in.
-Absolutely love the European summer, a weather that doesn’t make you sweat at all…
